Dragons love Christmas!

This year for Christmas gifts Kid Valiant's mom got him a pack of oil-based Sharpies (from Amazon) and a bunch of large white mugs from the 99 Cent store. Kid Valiant brainstormed and sketched on paper a few designs that he liked - until he settled on a dragon. Then using the markers he drew the dragon on each mug. We let them sit for 2 days and then we baked them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. His grandparents and aunts and uncles were thrilled to get a custom Kid V mug!

Let Your Imagination Fly - PTA Reflections

Kid V is in 6th grade now and for the first time ever decided to submit an art piece for the PTA Reflections Contest. New for this year is a Visual Arts category that allows you to enter in a 3-D piece of art via photos on a zip drive (or disc). The theme this year is "Let Your Imagination Fly" which inspired Quinn to make a custom Lego dragon called Shadow. Below are photos of what he submitted. Wish him luck!!

Kid V has been busy this summer and school has only been out a few days! He is making his own book of monsters.
Below is a yet to be named snake dragon.

Bionicles!

Kid Valiant had a little free time on his hands this weekend and decided to haul out the bionicles. He came up with this pretty impressive monster dragon. I love his free-form creations!

Sleighin' the Dragon!

I didn't have time this year to design a Christmas Card so I asked Kid Valiant if he would draw something for me. His only directive was to make sure it had a holiday theme. I am so so excited with what he came up with!! The Santa flying a dragon was entirely his own idea and I think the execution is fabulous as well! When he was done I scanned it into Photoshop - added a night sky and a Merry Christmas and just sent it off the printer. I can't wait to send these in the mail.

Eyeborg!

Kid V, like just about any boy his age, loves to play Skylander! Skylander has pretty cool graphics and it inspired V to make a cyborg version of Eye Brawl. We like to call it Eyeborg...cuz you gotta have cool name if you're gonna draw something this awesome. Kid V also had me take down a few notes too so that everybody could read about all the nifty features and weaponry incorporated into his design...
